Nazism - formally known as National Socialism is the totalitarian ideology and practices associated with the Nazi Party - the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Nazism is considered a German version of fascism, but it differs from the Italian original. The Nazis gained popularity by resetting to social discontent and the difficult situation in Germany after the World War I and the fear of the growing threat from communism. The Nazis offered the Germans a romantic vision of their nation's superiority over others and pointed out those responsible for the situation in the country at that time. Nazism was based on the distorted theses of Nietzsche and Darwin, adapted to the needs of the theory of race struggle.
