Armenia PM Nikol Pashinyan accuses army of attempted coup

This week I’ve read an article about situation in Armenia after the short military conflict with Azerbaijan. The whole situation is related to the loss of Karabakh – a mountain region belonging to Azerbaijan but controlled by Armenians since truce in 1994.                    Last year due to conflict Armenia had lost this region for the Azeris. Shortly after the end of the conflict Armenian Prime Minister had dismissed a few commanders from military staff and sacked armed deputy chief Tiran Khachary. The loss of enclave and these decisions seriously angered Amrenian military management, which accuses the government of ineffective foreign policy. Armenian Prime Minister – Nikol Pashinyan also accused main military staff for attempted  coup against government.  Pashinyan gathered with thousands of his supporters in the capital city – Yerevan. He made a statement that the army isn’t the political institution and never should be.                             The situation is  very tense cause it was very close to outbreak of civil war. In my opinion these events could shake the balance and give the opportunity to the other side of the conflict . In the last years conflict itself I Was surprised by the low involvement of Russian in this conflict because it had always actively participated in military operations wheter in The Caucasus or in the Middle East.

  1. Oh, I'm sure they've got their dirty fingers in this mess too. We just don't hear about it.
